The Eveline High School Hall came alive with excitement as the ‘Literature Comes Alive Festival‘, hosted by the Center for Talent Development (CTD), opened its doors. Running from September 25 to October 3, the festival—nicknamed Final Act 25—arrives at a crucial time for students preparing for final exams.

On the opening day, eager students lined up outside the hall to witness literature transformed into performance. CTD actors staged stories from Shadow on the Horizon by Stephen Mpofu, including The Village Priest and Midnight Operation, sparking lively debates and critical thinking among learners. Other classics such as Animal Farm and I Will Wait were also brought to life on stage.

Beyond performances, the festival featured literary experts and teachers offering insights into exam marking, analysis, and strategies for tackling literature questions. Students had the opportunity to ask questions, engage in discussions, and sharpen their literary appreciation.

Adding star power to the event was award-winning theatre actor Dalubuhle Nyoni, fondly known as the Prince of Theatre, whose performances left a lasting impression.

The festival not only entertained but also deepened understanding, proving how powerful and accessible literature can be when creatively presented. As the event continued, more students flocked to Eveline High, eager for the next act in this celebration of stories, learning, and imagination.
