In a message of condolence released from Dakamela Primary School, Nkayi District, the Trust described the late monarch as “a revered traditional leader, cultural custodian, and symbol of the enduring legacy of the Nguni peoples across Africa.”

Chief Dakamela recalled meeting His Majesty earlier this year during the annual Ncwala Ceremony in Chipata, Zambia.

The encounter highlighted the late king’s reach beyond his kingdom.

As fellow custodians of shared heritage, Dakamela Trust called the passing “a profound loss not only to the Ngoni Kingdom but to the wider African traditional leadership fraternity.”

The Trust used powerful imagery to capture the impact of his death.

“His passing marks the falling of a great tree whose roots ran deep within the history, culture, and identity of our people.”

During this period of mourning, Dakamela Trust says it stands in solidarity with the Royal Family, the abaNgoni Royal Establishment, and all members of the Ngoni nation.

They prayed for comfort and strength for all who grieve, and hope the king’s legacy continues to inspire future generations to preserve the cultural inheritance entrusted by ancestors.
