In the heart of Lobengula West, Bulawayo, Floppy Flaws’ journey began, fueled by the raw energy of the streets and a passion for storytelling.
He is the mastermind behind Kasibeats, a sound that’s taking,Bulawayo as well as the whole of Zimbabwe by storm.
Growing up in Sizane High School, Floppy Flaws found solace in theatre, winning Best Cameo Role in a drama competition in Masvingo.
However it was during Form 3 that music became the true calling, with experiments in sounds and songwriting.
A chance meeting with Browny at St Bernard’s High led to the recording of “Skrr olenkani” with TCK, which surprisingly gained airplay on major Bulawayo radio stations.
To him ,Kasibeats is more than just a music project it’s a movement. Frustrated by the lack of representation of township life in Zimbabwean music, Floppy Flaws set out to create a sound that speaks directly to the youth, blending hip-hop, kwaito, house, and traditional rhythms.
The result is a bold, streetwise, and unapologetically local sound that’s resonating with listeners across Zimbabwe and beyond.
Hits like “Egoli” and “iLongdistance” have topped charts on Skyz Metro FM, Bayethe FM, and Khulumani FM, with fans connecting with the raw emotion and authenticity.
“It’s not just music it’s a lifestyle and a voice for those who’ve never felt represented,” said Floppy Flaws.
“I wanted to create a sound that captures the essence of our streets, our struggles, and our triumphs.”
However the journey hasn’t been without challenges.
Bulawayo’s music scene can be tough, with limited support and a sense of competition rather than unity he said,to My Kasi Magazine.
“In Harare, artists support each other more it’s a different vibe,” says Floppy Flaws.
“We have the sound, the stories, and the skills we just need to believe in each other more.”
That’s why Kasibeats is on a mission to create a movement, bringing pride and unity to Bulawayo’s music scene. With a clear vision and a passion that’s infectious, Floppy Flaws is not just making waves they’re changing the game.
“I’m not just making music for myself, I’m making it for the people, for the streets, and for the future,” says Floppy Flaws.
“Get ready to vibe with Kasibeats the sound of the ghetto, for the people.”
Floppy Flaws is taking his unique sound to new heights.
He believes that with Kasibeats, the future of Bulawayo music is bright.
