The world of spiders, scorpions and other often misunderstood creatures is took centre stage at the Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe in Bulawayo, following the official opening of its new Arachnids Exhibition last week.
The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to discover more about a group of creatures that are often feared or overlooked, but play an important role in the natural world.
Featuring spiders, scorpions, ticks and their relatives, the display took visitors closer to the world of arachnids, offering an educational experience that encourages curiosity and a better understanding of these creatures.

To encounters with spiders and scorpions are usually met with caution. However, the exhibition provided an opportunity to look beyond that first reaction and learn about their characteristics, behaviour and place within the natural environment.
The opening marks another effort by the Natural History Museum of Zimbabwe to make science and nature more accessible to the public, particularly young people who can benefit from learning beyond the classroom.
Through exhibitions of this nature, the museum continues to create opportunities for families, students and other visitors to engage with Zimbabwe’s natural heritage while developing an appreciation for the biodiversity that surrounds them.
The Arachnids Exhibition is now open to visitors, offering an opportunity to explore a fascinating side of the natural world that many may know very little about.
