When life tests your patience, pokes at your deepest wounds, and pushes you to the edge of who you think you are, what do you do? For some, it’s fight or flight. For others, like the author of Forgive, Love and Renew, it’s a moment to stop, reflect, and choose a different path.
As the title promises, this isn’t just another self-help book with pretty words. It’s a heartfelt guide built around three transformative principles: forgiveness, love, and renewal. The book invites readers to release bitterness, choose healing over hurt, and embrace a fresh start free from the weight of negative emotions.
The author’s inspiration wasn’t some calm, zen moment, it was anger. Real, raw, “who am I becoming?” kind of anger. People had pushed her buttons so hard, she didn’t recognise herself. “I was in such a dark place mentally that I wanted to hurt people,” she admits. “That’s when I realised I needed to find a better way to handle my feelings, for my own peace of mind.”
A particularly triggering incident became the turning point. Instead of letting rage win, she chose her values and faith over retaliation. That moment birthed the journey that would become Forgive, Love and Renew.
The core message? Everything starts in the mind. “Your thoughts shape your emotions, and your emotions shape your actions,” she explains. If you cultivate anger, that’s what you project. But if you nurture love and forgiveness, that’s what you give the world.
The writing journey wasn’t overnight magic, it was three years of discipline, consistency, and overcoming creative blocks. Between work, school, and life, finding time meant scheduling it, even without inspiration. “You can’t wait for the mood to strike. You have to hustle for it,” she says.
Editing went through two layers, first with a freelancer, then with her publisher’s team, to ensure the final book was polished and professional.
Writing this book has been deeply personal, drawing about 30% from her own experiences. She’s candid about the challenges of finding the right publisher and warns against paying upfront to hybrid publishers. “Go traditional if you can, yes, the cut is smaller, but you’re not risking your money.”
She hasn’t yet held her printed copy but knows it’ll be emotional. “This is my baby, my heart, blood, sweat, and tears on paper.”
This book is for everyone, whether you’re thriving or barely holding it together. It’s for those wrestling with forgiveness, battling anger, or seeking peace. If it helps even one person, she considers it mission accomplished.
Personally, the process has been transformative. “If you had told me 10 years ago that I’d have a published book, I wouldn’t have believed you,” she says. It’s given her confidence to chase dreams that once felt impossible.
Professionally, her role hasn’t changed, but as an author, she now sees herself as someone who will keep using stories, fiction or non-fiction, to help people process difficult emotions. Her next project? Fiction. “I want to explore new creative territory while still touching on real human experiences.”
Her message to upcoming authors is simple but powerful; Own your story, don’t think it’s too small to matter. Be consistent, write even when you’re not inspired. Handle criticism wisely, learn from constructive feedback, block out destructive noise. And most importantly: “You’d rather say ‘I did it’ than ‘I wish I had.’”
Forgive, Love and Renew isn’t just a book, it’s a roadmap out of darkness. It’s proof that even in moments when hurt feels heavier than hope, choosing love and renewal can lead you back to yourself
