Excitement is building within Zimbabwe’s fashion and modelling industry following the announcement that the prestigious Bulawayo Models Awards (BMA) will return this year for its highly anticipated third edition, with organisers promising a bigger, better and more impactful event than ever before.

In a statement released on Saturday, the Bulawayo Models Association confirmed that preparations for the awards are already underway, with this year’s edition expected to feature increased sponsorships, expanded promotional campaigns and enhanced opportunities for models and other industry stakeholders.

The association called on models across Bulawayo and beyond to remain attentive as more details regarding the event will be unveiled in the coming days.

“The Bulawayo Models Association is pleased to announce that the 3rd Edition of the Bulawayo Models Awards will be back this year bigger, better, with more sponsorships and promotions,” the statement read.

Organisers further revealed that an official press statement and the unveiling of the awards board will take place on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, an event expected to provide comprehensive details on award categories, nomination procedures, partnerships, sponsorship packages and the overall vision for this year’s ceremony.

The Bulawayo Models Awards have steadily grown into one of the city’s premier platforms for recognising excellence in modelling, fashion, pageantry, photography and other creative industries. Since their inception, the awards have celebrated the achievements of models, designers, photographers, pageant directors, agencies, influencers and other key contributors to the growth of Zimbabwe’s fashion sector.

Industry observers believe the return of the awards will further strengthen Bulawayo’s position as a leading centre for fashion, modelling and creative arts in Zimbabwe. The platform has become instrumental in promoting professionalism, nurturing emerging talent and creating valuable networking opportunities within the industry.

Stakeholders have welcomed the announcement, expressing optimism that the third edition will build on the success of previous years and provide greater exposure for local talent while attracting new partnerships and investment into the creative sector.

As anticipation continues to mount ahead of Tuesday’s official unveiling, the fashion community is eagerly awaiting details of what organisers have described as the biggest and most ambitious edition of the Bulawayo Models Awards to date.
