Victoria Falls resident and international fashion designer, Brightman Dlamini, has been recognised as one of the best fashion designers of the season in Zimbabwe. The Mbembesi -born designer, founder of Tocar Narration international fashion brand, expressed excitement and shock upon receiving the nomination for Outstanding Fashion Designer at the 8th edition of Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA).

“This is an incredible honor,” said Brightman Dlamini. “If I secure the award, it will be a historic moment for me and Tocar Narration, as it will make us double award-winning designers. We were previously recognized as Outstanding Fashion Designer during the inaugural Victorian Awards held in Victoria Falls last year.”

Tocar Narration’s impressive journey continued last month, as Brightman Dlamini presented his designs at one of Africa’s most prestigious fashion shows, SA Mens Wear Week, held in South Africa. The designer showcased his inspired Tonga collection, sharing the stage with fashion legends, including international designer David Tlale and Ara Kani brand by Nkululeko from Zimbabwe.

“It was an unforgettable experience, and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to connect and network with other designers and clients,” said Brightman. “This exposure has opened numerous doors, and I’m excited to see what the future holds for Tocar Narration.”
