Bulawayo proudly celebrated one of its own as newly crowned Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe, Virginia Tlou Nyambe, received a warm and prestigious welcome from city leaders following her national triumph.

In a remarkable show of support and civic pride, Bulawayo City Council hosted a special reception in honor of Virginia, at City Hall.

Recognising her achievement as a significant milestone not only for the city but for Zimbabwe as a whole.
Leading the welcome was the Mayor,Senator David Coltart, represented at the event by Ntombizodwa Khumalo.

Also in attendance was the Minister and Member of Parliament Raj Modi alongside Bulawayo Town Clerk Christopher Dube, reflecting the importance attached to Virginia’s accomplishment.

Queen Virginia recently earned the title of Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe, securing the honor of representing the nation at the upcoming Miss Intercontinental world finals.
Her victory places her among Zimbabwe’s leading ambassadors on the international stage and positions Bulawayo firmly in the spotlight.

Speaking during the reception, city leaders praised Virginia as a symbol of determination, excellence, and hope for young people across the country.

They emphasised that her success
demonstrates the power of ambition, discipline, and hard work, inspiring a new generation to pursue their dreams regardless of the challenges they may face.

The Mayor’s office described Queen Virginia as an outstanding representative of Bulawayo whose achievement brings pride not only to the city but to the nation.
Her journey from Bulawayo to the global stage was celebrated as proof that local talent can compete and excel internationally.

Deputy Minister Raj Modi encouraged young Zimbabweans to draw inspiration from Virginia’s story, noting that no dream is too big when matched with dedication and perseverance.
He urged her to carry the national flag with pride and continue serving as a role model for aspiring leaders and achievers.

Meanwhile Town Clerk Christopher Dube also called upon residents to support Virginia throughout her international journey.

He stressed the importance of standing behind local talent and ensuring that the city’s representatives feel the full backing of their communities when competing on the world stage.

In her response to the public,Queen Virginia expressed heartfelt gratitude for the recognition and support she has received. She thanked Bulawayo City Council, community leaders, and residents for believing in her and pledged to continue promoting Bulawayo and Zimbabwe wherever her journey takes her.
