The city of Bulawayo is celebrating a proud moment as one of its own, 23 year old Zanele Moyo, was officially crowned Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2026 at a glittering national finale held in Harare.
Moyo’s victory is more than a personal achievement it is a win for Bulawayo
Queen Moyo is no stranger to the spotlight. A model, entrepreneur, and former Miss Uhuru Zimbabwe 2025, she entered the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe stage with experience, poise, and a clear vision.
Competing against the country’s top finalists, she stood out through her advocacy, public engagements, and strong connection with audiences during the public voting stages.
The Miss Tourism Zimbabwe pageant is built on the idea of “beauty with purpose.” Beyond the runway, contestants are judged on their ability to promote Zimbabwe’s culture, heritage, and tourist destinations.
Models represented their provinces and must run community projects that showcase tourism and empower others.
Throughout her journey, Moyo championed Bulawayo’s rich history, art, and culture under her initiative ‘Project Discover Bulawayo’.
The project spotlighted local businesses, hidden heritage sites, and young creatives who are shaping the city’s identity. From the majestic architecture of the National Gallery and the Railway Museum, to the vibrant township arts scene and food culture, Queen Moyo made it her mission to remind Zimbabweans and the world that Bulawayo is a tourism gem.
Her project also focused on youth empowerment, giving young photographers, designers, and tour guides a platform to tell their own stories.
As Miss Tourism Zimbabwe 2026, Zanele Moyo now takes on the role of national tourism ambassador. Her duties will see her representing Zimbabwe locally and on international platforms, marketing the country’s destinations, culture, and people. From Victoria Falls to Great Zimbabwe, from the Eastern Highlands to the streets of Makokoba, she will carry the responsibility of telling Zimbabwe’s story with pride and authenticity.
Her win is deeply symbolic. It places the city at the center of the national tourism conversation and inspires a new generation of young women to see pageantry as a tool for advocacy, business, and cultural preservation.
