The City of Bulawayo has received a donation of 50 desks and 50 chairs, which are valued at US$3,000, from MultiChoice Zimbabwe for Nketa Primary School.

This donation is said to be part of MultiChoice’s ongoing Sustainability Project, aimed at uplifting and making a positive impact in communities across Zimbabwe.

“We are thrilled to receive this donation, which will improve the learning environment and reduce shortages, motivating both learners and teachers to excel,” said, Director of Housing and Community Services, Mr. Dictor Khumalo.

Mrs. Rosemary Tshuma, Headmistress of Nketa Primary School, represented by Deputy Head Mrs. Nokuthula Ndlovu also applauded the gesture, emphasising that education is a shared responsibility.

“The new furniture will create a conducive learning environment, and we appreciate MultiChoice Zimbabwe’s commitment to supporting education in our community,” she said.

The impact of this donation will be felt by the learners and teachers at Nketa Primary School, who will benefit from a more conducive learning environment. The new furniture will also help to reduce the shortage of desks and chairs, allowing learners to focus on their studies without distractions.

Representing MultiChoice Zimbabwe’s General Manager, Siyabulela Je, echoed the same message saying the company is commitment to making a positive impact in Zimbabwean communities.

“We believe that education is key to unlocking potential, and we’re proud to support Nketa Primary School in this way,” he said.

The school administration is expected to allocate the new furniture to various classrooms and offices, ensuring that every learner and teacher benefits from the donation. Present during the donation was Councillor Bruce Moyo of ward 22 where Nketa Primary is located. He appreciated the donation and called for more organisations to reach out to their communities.
