Residents of Umguza District have received a major boost in access to healthcare following the official commissioning of the new Kennebec Clinic, a landmark development expected to improve the delivery of essential medical services in the area.

The clinic was officially commissioned by Hon. Richard Moyo, Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Matabeleland North Province.

The occasion marked another important milestone in the Government’s ongoing efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure and bring quality medical services closer to rural communities.
The establishment of Kennebec Clinic is expected to reduce the distances many residents have had to travel to access medical attention, while improving access to primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, disease prevention programmes and other essential treatments.

The facility is also expected to ease pressure on surrounding health institutions by providing much-needed services within the local community.

Speaking through the significance of the project, the commissioning highlighted the Government’s commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind in the country’s development agenda. Investments in healthcare infrastructure remain central to improving the quality of life for citizens and creating resilient communities capable of responding to present and future health challenges.
